A.H.J. @ Mexicali

When I heard that Albert Hammond Jr. was going to perform at Mexicali Live which is 5 minutes away from my house, I jumped at the chance to get tickets. I went with my friend Brett and linked up with my old friend Paul and his friend. I know this is a hip hop blog, but you have to make exceptions sometimes. I'm a huge Strokes fan and love AHJ and the Yours to Keep album by Hammond Jr. GFC is one of my favorite songs to listen to and I could not miss the opportunity to see a Strokes member perform so close to my house.  For lack of better wording, he fuckin killed it! He is ridiculously talented  and everyone should pick up his albums if you are a fan of great music. Here are some pics and vids I took from that show. PS. Setlist was different from the one shown.

93 'til Infinity and beyond

The whole reason for the resurrection of this blog was because of the show I went to on July 3rd. It was a last minute thing, but was able to catch Souls of Mischief at S.O.B.s on their Still 93 till Infinity tour.  They performed a bunch of album cuts and a track from 3rd eye vision album. Can't believe it's been 20 years. Don't forget to watch the videos, thumbs up, and subscribe. Stay tuned for Rock the Bells footage coming up in October and the Skatalites sometime later this month.

Beastcoast!!!!!!!!! Holy shit...Underachievers, Pro Era, and Flatbush Zombies in one place.  Loved the energy in there and how they were throwing pool furniture to crowd surf. Underachievers had the best performance of the night in my opinion. Make sure you check the videos in HD and subscribe to my youtube channel.

Trillectro

Went to DC with my boy Freebase and it happened to fall on the first ever Trillectro concert. It was fucking amazing. As soon as we got there, Flatbush Zombies started to perform which I would have been pissed if I had missed it since that was one of the few names I knew. Got to see Phony PPL, Tabi Bonney, Casey Veggies, and Schoolboy Q to name a few artists that showed up. They also had the best invention ever....Redbull w/ vodka slushies... #ftw

La Coka Nostra and Jedi Mind Collabo

My boy O-rock invited me to this La Coka show. I was not aware of most of their songs, but they definitely put on a very good show starting with Jedi Mind Tricks and Vinny Paz's Sacrifice verse. Ill Bill was amazing as usual(It was his birthday too), Slaine was dope, but unfortunately no Everlast. I got a sick La Coka Masters shirt in the NY Rangers design. When the show ended, I was outside while waiting for my other boy and was talking about all the artists there and I look at 2 guys walking towards me and I say with a puzzled look, "and Chromeo?"....and P-thugg turns around and nods his head and says "yea!" lmao!!!
